Catholic Stigmatists Saints
Who are the Catholic Stigmatists Saints? Possibly the most famous is Saint Francis of Assisi followed by Saint Padre Pio. What is a stigmatist? A stigmatist is someone that bears the wounds of Jesus Christ. This person can be a male or female. No one can inflict the stigmata with their own will. The evidence of true stigmata comes only for God. There is another form of stigmata known as hidden or mystical stigmata. Bessed Dina Belanger of Canada and Saint Faustina Kowalska experienced the hidden or mystical stigmata. In fact Saint Padre Pio had this form in his early years.
